An art battle is where two artists go head-to-head for 90 minutes to produce a black and white illustration, the crowd votes the winner. Artists receive materials from sponsors Posca, Artgecko Skectchpads and Scrawlrbox; as everyone is really a winner at Battle Lines!
Cur5 is an illustrator and street artist who specialises in paste-up’s and sticker art.
She is the founder and curator of Battle Lines; a timed live art battle event which has attracted local, national and international artists from a range of creative disciplines including Graffiti and Street Artists,Tattooists, Illustrators and Fine Artists.
Cur5 work includes live art at Tamworth New Urban Era Festival (Tamworth), Bring The Paint (Leicester) KorpFest (Peterborough) and Pop-Up Lab: Visual Storytelling project. She has been featured in Peterborough Presents:1000 Moments, Nene Living, Gaze:Peterborough’s Feminist Art Zine, the Brooklyn Sketchbook Project Library. Commissioned work includes Nene Park Trust’s ’42 Words’ project and Peterborough Presents ‘Millfield Link’ project.

Postal BAttles
Throughout lockdown battles moved to Instagram and featured Rob Gaughran, Ginger Dan, Stu Mason, Todd Jerm, Luniara (US). Postal battles included artists teaming up in pairs to battle with another team, pieces were posted between artists.
Youth Battles
In 2022, the first official youth battle was commissioned by Jumped Up Theatre Peterborough’s Right Here, Right Now youth-led creative project. This battle featured young emerging artists aged 13-19.
